Welcome to the new SportFits Magazine

Welcome to the new SportFits Magazine

Why we’re committed to real depth in the age of AI content, and what you can expect from SportFits Magazine.

Why we’re launching this magazine

For months, I’ve been scrolling through outdoor magazines, sports blogs and guides, and I’ve noticed how much of it feels the same. Too often, the texts are designed above all to look good: generic tips, quick product lists and very little real context. Plenty of content, little substance.

That’s exactly where we come in.

Our claim is Fit for your Life, and we mean it. To us, outdoor is more than equipment. It’s movement, safety, nutrition, training, recovery and longevity. It’s the good feeling of being prepared. It’s the confidence to make the right decision, not simply the next one.

The answers to real questions rarely fit into a 300-word SEO text.

That’s why we’re launching SportFits Magazine. Not because the world needs another magazine, but because it needs one that is worth reading again. One that tells a story. One that dares to go deeper.

Our manifesto

There are three things you’ll always find in our content:

1) Depth instead of copy and paste

We don’t copy. We gather primary sources, compare claims, check for contradictions and link transparently. When we talk about protein requirements, we do so on the basis of current studies and guidelines. When we talk about material technologies, we provide real explanations rather than buzzwords.

2) Opinions, but with good reason

We don’t want to be neutral at any cost. We want to be helpful. That means making assessments and showing you why. We explain the trade-offs. We tell you what something is designed for, and what it isn’t. And yes, sometimes the best recommendation is to buy less. Or to use what you already have.

3) Honest about limitations

Not everything is black and white. Not every body of research is conclusive. Not every "pro" applies to everyone. We flag uncertainties, point out exceptions and clearly say: "This is where caution is worthwhile" or "This is a decision that depends on you." Good content doesn’t shout. It is thorough.

What you can expect from the magazine

SportFits Magazine is more than a collection of articles. It is a system of knowledge, tools and participation.

Well-founded guides and buying advice — From backpack carrying systems and sleeping bag temperatures to material knowledge. Practical, detailed, with clear context and alternatives.

Tour and travel inspiration — From day hikes to adventures. With context, a sense of difficulty, planning tips and real experiences.

Training, nutrition and longevity — Evidence-based, without the hype. Not "faster, higher, further", but better, healthier and more sustainable.

Pulse — Short updates, context and small prompts, often up to date, always guided by one principle: useful rather than loud.

Interactive tools and calculators: ready to use, free of charge and with no sign-up required. For example:

Plus plenty more mini apps that answer specific questions quickly.

Weather, snow and tour checks: we help you find your bearings with forecasts, context and reliable sources. For safety-relevant information, such as avalanche conditions, we always link to official sources and make it clear what is information and what remains your decision.

The SportFits community

The magazine is at the heart of a community we are currently building.

Getting involved is actively encouraged: comments, reviews, surveys and experience reports all count. You earn Gems for doing so. You can redeem them for real voucher codes, and you will be seen in the leaderboard as someone who does more than just consume content.

And because we do not see this as a gimmick, we are gradually connecting the magazine with the SportFits Club. Club members can already see their status and benefits after logging in. This is only the beginning.

The SportFits Magazine is live from today

We will keep building it: new formats, more tools, deeper analysis and community activities. But the direction is clear: content worth reading and a community that makes more of it together.

I am delighted to have you with us.

About the author

Thorsten

CMO at SportFits · Editorial focus: evidence-based fitness, training & longevity

Thorsten writes about training, health and nutrition for the magazine, with one clear standard: content must be understandable, practical and free from hype. He draws on studies, guidelines and experience from everyday sport, takes a critical look at trends and always highlights limitations, trade-offs and alternatives. His focus is long-term performance: strength training as a foundation, sensibly dosed endurance training, effective recovery and routines that genuinely work in everyday life. His diet is pescetarian and protein-conscious, with an emphasis on satiety, energy and metabolic health. When Thorsten mentions products or brands, he does so transparently and with their practical benefit in mind. Recommendations are only made when they are professionally justified and suited to the intended use.
