The safety compartment has its own zip. Shovel and probe sit there ready to grab, without anyone emptying the main compartment.

Folded in its pocket, out in one pull. In an emergency it shows exactly where to dig.

A card with the most important steps sits right at the front of the pocket.

3Shovel handle
The handle lies next to the probe and is the first thing in your hand.

4Shovel blade
The blade lies flat against your back. Digging out usually takes longer than the search itself.

Go into the main compartment, right at the top. A bivvy bag weighs little and keeps the wind off if someone has to wait.
