Minymo: Danish kidswear for children who play outside

Everyday clothes that keep up, plus a serious outdoor line for genuinely bad weather

Who is Minymo?

Minymo is a Danish childrenswear brand from Ikast, a town known for its textile industry. The brand belongs to BRANDS4KIDS A/S, a Danish company with several childrenswear labels in its portfolio.

How Minymo sees itself: clothing for children who actually live in it. Not for the display case, but for the playground, the nursery, the woods, the rain. Four collections a year cover that ground, from basic layers and fashion pieces through to a standalone outdoor line built for genuinely bad weather.

New at SportFits: Minymo

Everyday clothing and outdoor kit for children from 0 to 14 years.

Everyday clothes for active kids

The heart of Minymo is the everyday collection, split into Basic and Fashion. Basics cover what children need daily: T-shirts, bodysuits, sweats, leggings, pyjamas. Solid, soft, durable. Nothing that looks like thirty washes after three.

The fashion line brings in the Scandinavian design language: clean lines, cheerful colours, playful patterns, without the fiddly bits that make getting dressed a battle. Elasticated waists instead of complicated fastenings, sturdy seams, freedom of movement built in.

What separates Minymo from pure fashion labels: the everyday pieces are designed from the start to survive a child's day. Climbing, tearing around, sitting on the ground — that is all accounted for.

Everyday clothes that keep up: Minymo pairs Scandinavian design with real durability.

The outdoor line

Anyone who knows children knows they do not wait for better weather. For exactly those moments Minymo built a separate outdoor line: softshell jackets, rain trousers, snowsuits, muddy-puddle dungarees.

The outdoor pieces are waterproof to a 10,000 mm water column and breathable at the same time, so children do not sweat through them even when they run around. The durable water repellent finish is PFC-free, meaning it leaves out the contested fluorocarbon compounds found in many older outdoor products.

Practical details that parents notice day to day: adjustable braces, elasticated cuffs, side zips for getting in and out quickly. Reflectors sit at the points that matter for visibility in autumn and at dusk. The outdoor line also starts at size 74, so it covers the smallest ones too.

Vorteile

  • Broad range: everyday, fashion and outdoor from one label
  • Outdoor pieces waterproof to a 10,000 mm water column
  • PFC-free water repellent finish, kinder to the environment than many rivals
  • Reflectors as standard on outdoor pieces
  • Available from size 74, covering baby through to teenager

Nachteile

  • Not GOTS-certified across every product line, as the sustainability standard varies by collection
  • Four collections a year means popular pieces can sell out quickly

Sustainability

Minymo leans on materials where neither children nor the environment pick up the bill. Many basics are made from GOTS-certified organic cotton, and the Global Organic Textile Standard is one of the strictest labels in textiles.

Another material in the basic line: bamboo viscose. It is naturally breathable, regulates temperature and grows without pesticides or synthetic fertiliser, which makes it a good call for sensitive skin.

For the technical outdoor pieces Minymo uses Bluesign-certified fabrics, which means responsible handling of chemicals, water and energy in production. Most of the collection also carries the Oeko-Tex certificate, which rules out harmful substances.
