Minymo: Danish children's clothing for active kids

Everyday clothing that keeps up, plus a strong outdoor range for truly wet weather

Who is Minymo?

Minymo is a Danish children's fashion brand from Ikast, a town known for its textile industry. The brand belongs to BRANDS4KIDS A/S, a Danish company with several children's fashion brands in its portfolio.

Minymo's ethos is simple: clothing for children who live life. Not for display, but for the playground, nursery, the woods and the rain. Four collections a year cover it all, from basic layers and fashionable pieces to a dedicated outdoor range for truly wet weather.

New at SportFits: Minymo

Everyday clothing and outdoor gear for children aged 0 to 14.

Everyday clothing for active kids

At the heart of Minymo is its everyday collection, split into Basic and Fashion. Basics include everything children need every day: T-shirts, bodysuits, sweatshirts, leggings and pyjamas. Well-made, soft and durable. Nothing that looks as though it has been through thirty washes after just three.

The Fashion range brings Scandinavian design into the mix: clean lines, cheerful colours and playful patterns, without fussy details that make getting dressed a chore. Elasticated waists instead of complicated fastenings, sturdy seams and freedom of movement built in.

What sets Minymo apart from fashion-only brands is that its everyday pieces are already designed to handle children's daily lives. Climbing, rough and tumble, sitting on the floor: that is part of the plan, not a problem.

Everyday clothing that keeps up: Minymo combines Scandinavian design with genuine durability.

The outdoor range

Anyone who knows children knows this: they do not wait for better weather. For exactly these moments, Minymo has developed its own outdoor range: softshell jackets, rain trousers, snowsuits and waterproof dungarees.

The outdoor pieces are waterproof to a 10,000 mm hydrostatic head rating while remaining breathable, so children do not get sweaty even when they are running and playing. The water-repellent treatment is PFC-free, meaning it contains none of the controversial fluorocarbon compounds found in many older outdoor products.

Practical details parents appreciate every day include adjustable straps, elasticated cuffs and side zips for quick dressing and undressing. Reflective details in key areas improve visibility in autumn and at dusk. The outdoor range also starts at size 74, so it is suitable even for the youngest children.

Strengths

  • Broad range: everyday, fashion and outdoor clothing from one brand
  • Outdoor pieces waterproof to a 10,000 mm hydrostatic head rating
  • PFC-free water-repellent treatment, more environmentally friendly than many competitors
  • Reflective details as standard on outdoor pieces
  • Available from size 74, from babies to teenagers

Weaknesses

  • Not GOTS-certified across every product range: sustainability standards vary by collection
  • Four collections a year: popular pieces can sell out quickly

Sustainability

Minymo uses materials that do not come at the expense of children or the environment. Many basics are made from GOTS-certified organic cotton. The Global Organic Textile Standard label is one of the strictest in textiles.

Another material in the basics range is bamboo viscose. It is naturally breathable, temperature-regulating and produced without pesticides or artificial fertilisers, making it a good choice for sensitive children's skin.

For its technical outdoor pieces, Minymo uses Bluesign-certified fabrics, supporting the responsible use of chemicals, water and energy during production. Most of the collection also carries the Oeko-Tex certification, which excludes harmful substances.
