CeLaVi: the Danish King of Rainwear for kids

CeLaVi is a Danish children's brand from Ikast and, like Minymo, belongs to BRANDS4KIDS A/S. The name says it all: 'Ce La Vi' is a nod to the way children take on life. Playing, running wild, staying curious, whether it's sunny, windy or raining all day.

Rainwear sits firmly at the centre of CeLaVi's range. The Danes call themselves the King of Rainwear, and with reason: rain jackets, rain suits and muddy-puddle trousers are what the brand stands for. On top of that come wellies made from natural rubber and a solid selection of merino wool basics for the colder months.

If you know children, you know they don't wait for better weather. CeLaVi's rain suits and jackets are made from soft PU fabric. It feels nicer on the skin than a stiff hardshell and is still fully waterproof. The welded seams make the difference: no water gets in through needle holes, as it does with stitched rain gear. The water column reaches up to 10,000 mm, so even a proper all-day downpour is no problem.

The fit is designed for children on the move: plenty of room for arm movement, adjustable cuffs and hoods, and reflective details for the dark autumn and winter months. The rain suits also come as a set with matching trousers, which saves child and parent time when getting dressed.

Then there are the wellies made from 100% natural rubber. No PVC, no plasticisers. Natural rubber is more flexible than PVC, even in the cold, and gives parents who pay attention to harmful substances peace of mind. The soles are slip-resistant and the shafts are soft enough for slightly thicker wool socks underneath.
