CeLaVi: the Danish brand that ignores bad weather

CeLaVi is a Danish children's brand from Ikast and belongs, like Minymo, to BRANDS4KIDS A/S. The name says it: 'Ce La Vi' is a nod to the way children approach the world. Playing, romping about, staying curious, whether the sun is out or the rain simply will not stop.

The centre of the range sits firmly with rainwear. The Danes call themselves King of Rainwear, and rain jackets, rain suits and mud trousers are what the brand is known for. Alongside them come wellies in natural rubber and a solid set of merino basics for the colder months.

Anyone who knows children knows they do not wait for better weather. CeLaVi's rain suits and jackets use a soft PU fabric that feels kinder on skin than a stiff shell and still keeps water out completely. The welded seams do the decisive work: no water creeps through needle holes the way it does with stitched rain gear. The water column reaches 10,000 mm, so the fabric copes with hours of steady rain.

The cut is made for children who move: room in the shoulders, adjustable cuffs and hoods, reflective details for dark autumn and winter afternoons. The rain suits come as a set with matching trousers, which helps when everyone is already late and still standing in the hallway.

Then there are the wellies in 100% natural rubber. No PVC, no plasticisers. Natural rubber stays more flexible than PVC when temperatures drop, and parents who watch out for questionable chemicals can relax. The soles are slip-resistant and the shafts are soft enough to leave room for thicker wool socks.
