Good to know
If you want to dig deeper
Last width indicates how wide the boot is across the forefoot. Each brand classifies widths differently: Atomic already considers 102 mm wide, while Dalbello places 100 to 102 mm in the medium range. This advisor counts up to 98 mm as narrow, 99 to 101 mm as medium and 102 mm or more as wide. It is a starting point: only trying the boot on shows whether it fits, and many shells can be adjusted by a specialist retailer.
Flex describes how much the cuff gives forwards. With the same manufacturer, higher numbers indicate a stiffer boot. There is no standard; a flex 110 from one brand may feel different from one by another.
It depends on the sole. Alpine bindings are made for soles conforming to ISO 5355, while GripWalk soles need a GripWalk-compatible binding. Have the combination checked when the binding is adjusted by a specialist retailer.
Ski boots are measured in Mondopoint, based on foot length in centimetres. Measure your foot and try boots on with ski socks.
Not necessarily on the piste. If you often walk to the hut or make short climbs off-piste, a walk mode is more comfortable.
